Emma Fuhrmann, who played Cassie Lang in Avengers: Endgame, has responded to the recent announcement that she is being replaced by Kathryn Newton in Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Fuhrmann extended her gratitude towards all of the fans that had reached out to her to offer support and kind words in the aftermath of the recasting news, which was revealed at Disney's annual investor day presentation last week. She said that she will "always be grateful" for being part of the MCU and that she is looking forward to whatever the future might hold for her."Just wanted to come on here & say that I see all your kind messages," Fuhrmann wrote in a heartfelt tweet to her followers. "Thank you for all your support. It has meant the world to me. I was as sad as you all were to hear the news Thursday. I can only hope that this means there is something else for me in the future of the MCU."In a follow-up tweet, she added: "I will always be grateful to have been a part of the MCU & the biggest movie of all time. Being an actress is still my #1 passion & I look forward to what the future holds."
In the MCU, Cassie Lang was initially portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson in both 2015's Ant-Man and 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp. Emma Fuhrmann took over the role in Avengers: Endgame, reflecting the movie's five-year time jump. Kathryn Newton is the latest actress to fill the role, playing the daughter of Scott Lang in Ant-Man 3 alongside Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror, as previously reported.
